palm-sized project

I’ve been favoring my 50mm prime lens and my 18-55mm lens a lot lately, so I decided to mix it up with a quick project (to help fill dog-walking time).  The terms I set myself for this project were that I had to use my 55-250mm lens at the maximum focal length (250-ish mm), and that the subject had to be something that would fit in the palm of my hand.  Basically that means the project was to take photos of small things from far away (for most of these photos, that was about 10 or 15 feet).

I also decided on 10 as an appropriate number of photos I had to take, which ended up being the biggest challenge:  “CRAP, it’s over a hundred degrees out here and I’ve only found 3 semi-but-not-really interesting small things… Thank GOD– a gum wrapper– maybe I can screw with the colors in lightroom to make it in some way usable.”  Hence, most of these are pretty boring.

… and with that hearty endorsement, here was my palm-sized project.

Come on, I like these! Maybe that could be your next project – “Pictures I Didn’t Want to Take.”

I really like the gum wrapper. 🙁
